# GitHub Copilot CLI

Ask Copilot CLI to review a named instruction, prompt, or tool-definition file. The `lintlang-audit` skill runs the scanner and summarizes its static findings in your session.

## Setup

Install the plugin directly from the repository:

```bash
copilot plugin install hermes-labs-ai/lintlang:integrations/copilot-cli
```

Install the Python 3.10+ scanner separately, or make uvx available for the skill's pinned on-demand runner:

```bash
python -m pip install lintlang==0.8.0
lintlang --version
```

## Verify

Start a new Copilot CLI session and run `/skills list`. Confirm that `lintlang-audit` loaded, then ask:

Use lintlang-audit to scan .github/copilot-instructions.md and report its verdict and findings.
```

Use a path that exists in your repository. Confirm that the response identifies the scanned file and reports its verdict and findings. This is an on-demand audit; the skill does not automatically scan every file or change its target.

## Troubleshooting and removal

The plugin does not bundle the Python package. If scanning cannot start, check the installed runner or uvx in the host environment. A scan makes no model or network calls, while package installation may need a download. PASS means the selected static checks found no covered issue above LOW.
